David Dobrik surprised his fans when he posted on Instagram about his wedding with Lorraine Nash. But the end of that marriage came as swiftly as its build-up a month earlier.

Lorraine Nash is the mother of Jason Nash, who is David Dobrik's close friend.According to Dobrik, a conversation he had with his friend, Nash, gave him the idea to marry his mother. During a conversation with talk show host, Jimmy Fallon, Dobrik said:

"So basically, I was in the car with one of my good friends (Jason Nash) and he told me that I would never find love. I think it was that same night I booked a flight to Boston, where his mother lives and I proposed to her."
The idea of Dobrik becoming her son's stepfather, which Dobrik mentioned during the proposal, quickly convinced her to say yes.

Shortly after the proposal, the two flew to Las Vegas, where they said their vows. The wedding took place on May 18, 2019, in the presence of a few of Dobrik's friends, at the popular Little White Wedding Chapel. The announcement was in an Instagram post that read:
“Last night I became my best friends stepfather by marrying his mother. So grateful for this opportunity. I’ll treat you as my own. Love you Jason, now go take out the trash it’s stinking up our living room."

After the wedding in Vegas, the newlyweds quickly hopped onto a plane. They headed for the beautiful islands of Hawaii for their honeymoon, where they participated in various exciting activities that made Lorraine feel as if they had been married for "50 years."
The Post Honeymoon Phase
After the honeymoon, Dobrik posted a 4-minute vlog of the events that had just taken place. The video began when Jason and Dobrik had the conversation about Dobrik not ever going to find love up to the moments shortly after the newlyweds return home from the honeymoon.
The proposal, the wedding, and the honeymoon had happened without Jason's knowledge. Hence, arguably, the best was saved for last, as it shows how Dobrik told his now stepson, Jason, about his recent union with his mother and how Jason reacted to the news.

The Divorce
While some fans were still in doubt of the legitimacy of their marriage, less than a month into their hastily arranged marriage, the couple decided to go their separate ways. The divorce announcement was made on Twitter on June 12, 2019. It said:
"I am heartbroken to announce that Lorraine and I have split. I wish her nothing but the best. We may have rushed into things but that's what happens when two young people fall in love. Please respect our privacy at this time."
